License
Swapy offers two types of licenses: open-source and commercial.
Open-source license
The open-source license is intended for using Swapy in open-source and
personal projects. The Swapy open-source license follows GPLv3. While GPLv3 has several terms, its key condition is its "sticky" nature when distributing your work publicly. As explained in the GPL FAQ:
If you release the modified version to the public in some way, the GPL
requires you to make the modified source code available to the
program's users, under the GPL.
If your project uses Swapy and is released under the GPLv3, your project
must also be licensed under the GPLv3. If this aligns with your needs,
you can freely use Swapy under the GPLv3 without needing to purchase a
commercial license.
Commercial license
The commercial license allows you to use Swapy in commercial products and
applications without being bound by the terms of the GPLv3. It ensures
that your code remains proprietary. If you plan to develop commercial
sites, themes, projects, or applications, the commercial license is the
right choice.
Purchasing a commercial license
Purchasing is quick and easy. After completing your purchase, you'll
receive a PDF of the commercial license, allowing you to start using Swapy
in your commercial applications right away. With the commercial license,
you gain:
- Unlimited use of Swapy in your commercial applications.
-
Permission to include Swapy in your own commercial products, such as
premium themes, plugins, or templates for WordPress, or other CMS
platforms.
-
Your customers and users are not required to purchase their own license,
provided they do not use Swapy to develop their own commercial products.
Commercial licenses are priced per team member. A team member is defined
as anyone on your team working on a project that uses Swapy.
Please refer to the Swapy Commercial License Agreement for full terms and details.
